Workstream 1

This study is...

This study is in set up stage.

What are we going to do?

We will develop new definitions of illnesses becoming worse. We will check that the new definitions reliably identify women becoming unwell. We will do this by working with our patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) colleagues and other experts, reviewing work that other researchers have already carried out. We will also test the new definitions in 3 NHS maternity units.

What data are we going to use?

For workstream 1, data from all women that have been pregnant during the study period at 3 selected NHS sites will be automatically included in this study, unless you have previously applied for the National Data Opt-Out. If you don't want for your data to be used by our research team, you can opt-out by contacting the research and development team at the hospital where you received care. More information is available on our personal data usage page.
