Nutricia

DOLFIN is not a commercial trial. The DOLFIN trial is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and the Department for Health and Social Care. The DOLFIN Trial is designed and managed by NHS clinicians and University academics. The NIHR and DOLFIN trial aim to provide research that improves children and parents' health and wellbeing.

Nutricia are a commercial company manufacturing and providing the supplement used in the DOLFIN trial, as this is not a product available to families or healthcare professionals.

Nutricia were not involved in trial design or protocol development, which was developed and submitted to NIHR by the research team.

Nutricia have agreed to provide the DOLFIN supplement at no cost to the NHS or NIHR, and will cover the costs of transports to deliver the supplement to hospitals and families. There is no Nutricia branding on any materials or packaging associated with the trial. NIHR frequently works with companies in this way – and NIHR required the contract between Nutricia and the DOLFIN team to be very specific around Nutricia's role and the information they receive.
