Parent, Patient and Public Involvement (PPI)

We are committed to putting the voices of women and fathers/partners at the heart of our research. This means that when we develop and carry out research projects we discuss them with women and fathers/partners, as well as the groups and charities who support them. We call this 'public involvement' in research, or PPI for short.

It's important that public involvement reflects the views of women and fathers/partners from different backgrounds and experiences. Being inclusive means that our research findings will be informed by the maternity care experiences of a wide range of people from across the country and lead to better decisions by government about how to provide health services. Our public involvement also helps us communicate our research clearly to different people.
