This year NPEU is raising money for a charity which works to support refugee women in Thailand/Myanmar. All donations go directly towards medical costs for providing maternity care to migrant/refugee women where they would otherwise receive no care at all.
The Dr Rose McGready Foundation provides maternity care to migrant and refugee women living along the conflict-affected border between Thailand and Myanmar. This vulnerable population has experienced decades of war and displacement, with devastating impacts on the health of women and children. The foundation provides life-saving birthing services along with antenatal and postnatal care free-of-charge to migrant communities. The work is conducted by volunteer doctors, midwives, nurses and public health educators. For more information about the foundation you can go to drrosemcgreadyfoundation.org.au/
We are selling raffle tickets for £1 each to help raise money. Prizes will be awarded at our fundraiser on the 12th of December.
